Running customer interviews

Interviews are the highest-value evidence in Wedge. The interview engine handles the structure and the extraction.

Get a question set#

Wedge generates an interview kit for your specific problem and persona: opening questions, pain probes, workaround questions, and willingness-to-pay prompts. The questions are past-behaviour focused — what they did, not what they'd do.

Log the conversation#

Paste your notes or a transcript after the call. Wedge extracts:

  • Pains — what actually breaks, in their words
  • Objections — why they wouldn't buy
  • Willingness to pay — budget signals, current spend, and who signs off
  • Verbatim quotes — kept intact for later use in landing-page copy

What happens next#

Extracted signals land on the canvas as evidence, raise or lower your Validation Score, and become source material for audience-native landing-page copy.

Tips#

  • Five focused interviews with one persona beat twenty scattered ones.
  • Log the interviews that went badly. Disconfirming evidence is the point.
